An Invitation from IASIA and the Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration, Fundação Getulio Vargas

We have the pleasure to invite you to Rio de Janeiro to attend the Annual Conference of the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA). The theme of this year’s Conference is “Governance for Sustainable Development: implications for public administration education and practice”.

The topic of the conference is obviously a very important one and one that Brazil and almost all countries and international organizations are greatly concerned about. It involves virtually every aspect of good governance and raises relevant issues for all areas addressed by the field of public administration and many other areas of analysis as well.

In addition to issues directly related to the conference theme, many other topics will also be addressed as is suggested by the material that follows. Of particular importance will be the report of the IASIA committee dealing with next steps in the implementation of the Standards of Excellence for Public Administration Education and Training.

Finally, we cannot resist noting that the conference will be hosted in one of the world's most beautiful cities which is renowned for its hospitality, beauty, and conference facilities.  Participants will be coming from throughout the world. We very much hope to meet you there.
